slub-brain?

I belong to a local society for knitters. It is a wonderful community in all sorts of ways, but I sometimes wonder if there should be a mandatory IQ test of the members. Example:

Moderator of discussion groups says: "We've started a mystery shawl project. All details can be found on our website."
Member of discussion group says: "Where can I find more information about the mystery shawl?"

or

Moderator of discussion group says: "It is soon time to pay your annual membership fee. All information can be found on our website."
Member of discussion group says: "How to I renew my membership? And when should I pay my membership fee?"

A third favourite is sending an e-mail to everyone saying: "I would like to end my subscription to this mailing list." In every message from the discussion group there is a footer that says "If you would like to unsubscribe please go to..."

I don't know, but could it be that yarn somehow is inhaled while knitting and then cloggs up the braincells of some people? Oh, am I terribly mean now? Sorry, just ranting...
